Being involved in a car accident can be a frightening situation. It can leave you, or your family, with significant injuries that last a lifetime, cause you to be unable to work and earn a living, all combined with medical bills that can bankrupt the whole family. One car accident can truly change your life forever. You cannot take it lightly, and certainly cannot afford to place your future in the hands of an attorney who does not have the experience, skill, and financial strength to fight for you, no matter how difficult, or long it takes, and no matter the cost. It is your life, and your family, and you must do everything you can to protect it.
Following an injury, it is important to take immediate steps to make sure that you and your family are protected. The insurance company adjusters and investigators will do whatever they can to minimize your claim and pay you as little money as possible. Do not ever accept any offer made to you by an insurance agent without first speaking with an attorney. These insurance agents are not on your side, because they work for the insurance industry. Their job is to pay you as little as you will accept. Do not fall for that trick. And, never settle a claim without knowing all of your injuries and the required medical care to recover from them, as well as all of your other recoverable losses, such as lost wages or income, permanent scarring and disfigurement, and your physical and mental pain and suffering.
At Langdale Law, we promise to fully investigate your automobile collision and your losses. That means fully understanding the cause of the collision. That means knowing who the other driver was and whether they have any criminal or other history that may have led to the crash. We will obtain your medical records and meet with your doctors to fully understand your injuries and your potential recovery. We will determine all of the available insurance coverage that can compensate you for all of your losses. And, most importantly, we will be there to support you through the entire process and fight for you so that you receive all that you are entitled to receive under the law.

Important Information for Car Accident Victims
Minimum Georgia Auto Insurance Limits
Georgia law requires all drivers to have the following minimum auto insurance coverage for their vehicle:
Bodily Injury Liability: $25,000 per person and $50,000 per incident
Property Damage Liability: $25,000 per accident
Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury: $25,000 per person and $50,000 per incident
Uninsured Motorist Property Damage: $25,000
Underinsured Motorist/UIM Claim (UM)
This type of insurance is found on your own automobile policy and is arguably the most important type of coverage that you should get. It provides you additional insurance coverage when the at-fault driver does not have enough insurance coverage to pay you for your damages or if the at-fault driver is uninsured. There are different types of UM policies. For instance, with some, you can add your UM coverage to the amount of the at-fault driver’s coverage, and others which you just look to the difference between your UM coverage and the at-fault driver coverage. There are also times when you can stack UM coverage with that of resident relatives in your household.
UM coverage is the most overlooked coverage by attorneys who do not specialize in representing injured persons in car accidents. And unfortunately, many attorneys do not understand all of the legal issues surrounding this type of coverage. An experienced attorney understands that you must determine all available insurance coverage, including any potential UM coverage early on. But even many attorneys who advertise themselves as car wreck attorneys on billboards and tv, do not even understand the UM law and overlook valuable UM coverage available to cover your losses. One misstep and you lose your chance to obtain more compensation.
At Langdale Law, we have recovered millions of dollars for our clients from UM coverage. Not only have we helped our clients, but we have also taken on cases from other attorneys to help the client recover UM insurance. The advertising attorneys have too many small cases to have the time to dig into UM coverage leaving clients with less than they deserve. We intentionally keep our caseload small and manageable so we can personally oversee every detail of your case. We will not overlook available insurance to compensate you. You have already been injured, and suffered a loss, why take a risk with an attorney that may cause you to suffer another loss?
It is important to note that UM coverage is not required in the State of Georgia, it is supplemental coverage. If you have underinsured motorist coverage and have been involved in a car accident it is important that you consult with an experienced Valdosta car accident lawyer immediately. UM claims have time restraints and nuances that a car accident attorney is familiar with and can ensure are met.
